Malik Asad Ali Khokhar is a Pakistani politician who is member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as well as Provincial Minister of Punjab.He won by election against PMLN candidate khalid mehmood qadri.On 31 December 2019, he was appointed as Provincial minister of Punjab for Fishries and Wildlife.On 19 July 2020, He resigned from his ministry.He was appointed as provincial minister in August 2021.Malik Asad contested his first election for the National Assembly of Pakistan on the ticket of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the 2018 Pakistani General Election.He contested in Raiwind NA136 the stronghold of PMLN. Malik Asad Ali Khokhar was not able to win the seat in general elections.However soon after the general elections he got another chance in the by-election on 13 December 2018 from constituency PP-168 of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on the ticket of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.He won the election by the majority of 687 votes over the runner up Rana Khalid Mehmood Qadri of Pakistan Muslim League (N).He garnered 17,579 votes while Qadri received 16,892 votes.On 27 February 2019, he was appointed as the chairman of the chief minister’s complaint cell.He resigned from his post on 26 August 2019.On 13 September 2019, he was appointed as the Provincial minister of Punjab.On 31 December 2019, he was appointed as Provincial minister of Punjab for Fishries and Wildlife.He resigned from his ministry on 19 July 2020.MPA Malik Asad Ali Khokhar’s brother, Mubashir Khokhar, was killed after unknown gunmen opened fire outside his son’s valima venue in Lahore.As being reported, a gunman opened fire when MPA Asad Khokhar along with his two brothers came out to see off CM Punjab Usman Buzdar.According to the news source, CM Usman Buzdar, who came to attend the valima ceremony, had been seated in his car and was at a few feet distance when the gunman opened fire.Following the incident, the function was called off and guests returned home.The police have reportedly arrested one of the accused.Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and several provincial ministers important were also present in the Valima.The key suspect, Nazim, in the murder case of MPA Asad Khokhar’s brother Malik Mubashar, killed the victim for “avoiding him” after the suspect was granted bail in a murder case, sources in the police said Monday.During an initial interrogation, Nazim had confessed to killing Malik Mubashar out of revenge, saying that the MPA’s brother was allegedly involved in the murders of his brother and uncle.
