Dany Fortin CMM MSC CD is a Canadian Armed Forces officer serving as a major general in the Canadian Army.He served as the Public Health Agency of Canada’s (PHAC) vice president of logistics and operations, leading the federal government’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout from November 27, 2020 to May 14, 2021, when he left pending a military investigation.He has served in commanding roles in the War in Afghanistan and the ISIL insurgency in Iraq.He commanded the 1st Canadian Division Headquarters and also served in a foreign exchange billet as the Deputy Commanding General for I Corps of the United States Army.In November, 2020, Fortin was named vice-president of logistics and operations for PHAC (in a military role), assisting in the procurement and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines approved by Health Canada for the federal COVID-19 vaccine rollout.On May 14, 2021, the Department of National Defence announced that Fortin left the PHAC assignment pending a military investigation.According to a CTV News source, the incident being investigated by the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service dates back to 1989, when Fortin allegedly exposed himself to a woman while he was a student at Royal Military College Saint-Jean.Fortin denied the allegation.On May 17, Fortin was replaced by Brigadier General Krista Brodie.
